Chapter Three

Our Promise

If someone had walked by that day, they probably wouldn’t have thought much of it. To them, it was just a quiet spot by the water. But to us, it became one of the most meaningful places in our story.

Before there was a wedding… before there were rings exchanged in front of family and friends… we stood here and made promises to each other.

We read the vows we had written from our hearts. We jumped a broom, honoring your dad and southern tradition. It was about making a promise. A promise that we would choose each other, no matter what life would bring.

Looking back, those promises weren’t just words. They became our life.

And if I had the chance to stand here with you all over again, I’d make the very same promises.
